India Post GDS Schedule-II Recruitment 2026 – Apply 2–21 September

The Department of Posts has activated Gramin Dak Sevak Online Engagement Schedule-II, July 2026 for Branch Postmaster (BPM), Assistant Branch Postmaster (ABPM) and Dak Sevak posts. Registration begins on 31 August 2026, while applications can be submitted from 2 to 21 September 2026.

The official portal confirms the recruitment cycle and dates. However, the circulated 25,000+ vacancy estimate is not yet verified as an official all-India total from the portal's visible vacancy data. Candidates should use its Vacant Posts and Annexures sections for the current division-wise position.

Registration and application are separate stages with different closing dates. Complete registration first, then submit division and post preferences during the application window.

Vacancy Details

No Haryana total has been added without a verifiable official vacancy list. Check the live circle-, division-, post- and category-wise annexures before applying.

Educational Qualification

Applicants need a Class 10 pass certificate from a recognized board with passing marks in Mathematics and English.

• The prescribed local language must have been studied through Class 10.
• Applicants must know computers.
• Applicants must know cycling.
• Applicants should have adequate means of livelihood apart from the GDS allowance.
• All conditions must be met by the relevant closing date.

Age Limit and Relaxation

The normal age range is 18 to 40 years, calculated as directed in the official notification.

Application Fee

The fee is ₹100 for applicants required to pay and covers all notified posts in the chosen division. Female, SC, ST, PwBD and transwomen applicants are exempt. Confirm the payable status generated by the official portal.

Pay only through the authorized application system. Do not transfer money to an individual, agent, messaging account or unofficial link.

TRCA and Service Conditions

GDSs are not regular Central Government employees. Their allowances and benefits differ from regular departmental staff. Duty is generally four to five hours daily, and selected BPM candidates normally arrange suitable Branch Post Office accommodation at their own cost.

Selection Process

There is no written examination and no interview.

1. The system prepares merit from Class 10 marks.
2. Candidates are shortlisted against division and post preferences.
3. Shortlisted candidates report for physical verification of original documents.
4. The Department checks education, language, age, category, disability and other claims.
5. Candidates complete medical, antecedent and pre-engagement formalities where required.
6. Engagement follows only after successful verification and joining requirements.

Exam Pattern

There is no exam, so no syllabus, question-paper pattern, duration or negative marking applies. Selection uses Class 10 merit under the official method.

• Proof of Mathematics, English and prescribed local-language study
• Recent passport-style photograph
• Scanned signature
• Active personal mobile number and email address
• Aadhaar or accepted identity information
• SC, ST, OBC, EWS or PwBD certificate, where applicable

• Medical-fitness certificate and other originals requested after shortlisting

How to Apply Online

1. Open https://www.indiapost.gov.in/gdsonlineengagement and confirm Schedule-II is active.
2. Read the notification and registration, application, fee and correction instructions.
3. Check Vacant Posts and Annexures for the selected circle, division, post and language.
4. Complete registration from 31 August to 19 September 2026 with your own mobile number and email.
5. Enter Class 10 and personal details exactly as printed on certificates.
6. From 2 September, sign in and select eligible division and post preferences.
7. Upload the required photograph and signature.
8. Pay ₹100 if the portal shows you are not exempt.
9. Submit by 21 September 2026 at 5:00 PM and save the form and payment status.

Use the 23–24 September correction window for permitted changes instead of creating a duplicate registration. Duplicate registrations can lead to cancellation.
